The point of this blog is better illustrated with a picture that was first drawn at 37,000 feet in the air on LH455 from San Francisco to Frankfurt. While I can't brag about drawing skills, I really would've preferred to scan my 4" x 4" napkin art than try to recreate the image on a dying laptop with its Precambrian graphical capabilities.

With crucial deadlines to meet, stepping onto an 11-hour flight can seem counterproductive. One can only clean one's Inbox for so long.

That's when my mind started drifting – thinking about what I had been doing for the past several days: Building a schedule of interviews for this year's SAP TechEd Live program in Berlin and Las Vegas. This is an endeavor that at first feels daunting, as I imagined trying to represent the SAP ecosystem – an incredibly vast, rich, creative, and interconnected set of people, companies, and institutions – in just 50 time slots. How?? Seems like trying to fit a 3D spherical peg into a 2D grid.

With so much to talk about at this company, and so many engaging people who deserve the spotlight, where do you possibly begin?

Shaking the SAP Snow Globe

Call it the depleted oxygen levels of flying, but I thought of the SAP ecosystem like a snow globe, with six pillars representing key themes of SAP TechEd, and all kinds of other cool stuff around it.

But as unique as all these "snowflakes" in the ecosystem are, this program schedule should not depend on where the winds blow.

And there are interdependencies in creating this schedule, lots and lots of them… more like that infamous cube from the 80's.

It's a puzzle of enterprise proportions, but it is a fun and engaging challenge to comb across so many different organizations and meet so many people doing innovative things inside and outside SAP.

In the end, an all-star cast of executives, TechEd speakers, solution managers and marketers, SAP Mentors, customers, and partners take the stage of SAP TechEd Live for 10-15 minutes to present you with real time content, live from the conference show floor!
