It’s been too long since I last had a chance to write about SAP’s efforts in Precision Medicine, so here an update with some latest highlights.
This week, SAP completed its yearly SAP SAPPHIRE NOW event, during which Jon Reed executed two great video interviews with Kevin Fitzpatrick from CancerLinQ (of the American Society of Clinical Oncology), and with Daryl Waggot and Dr. Euan Ashley from the Stanford Center for Inherited Cardiovascular Disease.
You should also be aware of the 2016, July 6th & 7th “SAP Personalized Medicine Forum” that will take place in Bonn, Germany. You can register here. This event will include several high-ranked speakers and exciting panel discussions and we expect more than one hundred participants from many different industries and institutes.
Oxford Economics has published an intriguing study about precision medicine. Among the key findings:
1. Early results are promising, and aspirations are high
2. A new approach to healthcare demands meaningful adjustments to culture and governance.
3. Technology is at the heart of the shift to personalized medicine.
4. While business models are not fully developed, the economic case for personalized medicine is maturing.
