I am happy to kick off 2008 with renewed energy, a handful of posts that are just about ready to go, and this special announcement:
SAP's internal Corporate Portal has been recognized as one of the 10 best intranets of the year by the Norman Nielsen Group! NNG's Intranet Design Annual is widely recognized as the industry standard. Our internal governing body, the Portal Business Group, has been actively working with teams across IT and lines of business to develop the Corporate Portal into a world-class intranet, and we are thrilled to receive this recognition. The NNG award is particularly meaningful to my KM team. Within the Knowledge Management Competency Center, my group is focused on strategy and execution in the areas of channel management, user experience, portal operations, and emerging technologies. We support the Corporate Portal as the backbone of SAP's enterprise content stores and delivery channels. Our excitement over the recognition is both conceptual, as KM champions of SAP's intranet, and specific -- the NNG report cited search improvements, an initiative led and supported by my KMCC colleagues, as a best practice.
