Forrester Research just released a new piece of research titled: “The Forrester Wave™: SaaS HR Management Systems, Q4 2014”.  In it, SuccessFactors is identified as a leader.  While most of the SuccessFactors’ solution portfolio was represented in the evaluation, the Core HR solution, Employee Central, was particularly called out in our profile in the report.

For us, being identified as a leader reflects not just the depth and breadth of our overall HCM solution portfolio, but also the focus and commitment to Employee Central, as well as its market success.

Since the acquisition of SuccessFactors by SAP, we have poured resources into Employee Central development, releasing new capabilities in position management, time off management, global benefits, shared services, productized integrations, and localizations which now include 71 countries. We have re-packaged the SAP ERP HCM Payroll capabilities together with Employee Central and can now offer payroll localized 28 countries on a proven payroll solution already used by thousands of companies worldwide. Furthermore, our localization goes far beyond name/address and currency fields, we provide the necessary support for global organizations to capture, maintain, and report employee information according to country-specific regulations.

This rapid acceleration of Employee Central capabilities is a direct benefit of SuccessFactors being part of SAP.  SAP has been delivering global HR systems to its on-premise customers for over 25 years.  We took that experience and leveraged it to build out Employee Central – but we didn’t just copy/paste old functionality and methodology.  We used the opportunity to understand what we did well, what we wished we had not done, what we would do if we could do it over, how to simplify, and how to support a modern and next-generation HR service delivery model.  So it’s a great example of 1 + 1 = 3 (or 4, or 5).

Forrester has recognized that our efforts to build out Employee Central as a core HR SaaS solution has paid off, as we now have a full comprehensive SaaS HRMS offering that combines engaging user experiences, a global system of record, deep talent management functionality, and a multinational payroll engine. Even better, Forrester recommends SuccessFactors Employee Central as a good choice for multinational organizations.

From day 1, we always said SAP and SuccessFactors were better together.  We feel the Forrester evaluation results are a great example of our strategy, execution, and commitment.  In a short amount of time, we’ve covered tremendous functional ground in the Core HR and payroll arena with the Employee Central solution and we look forward to great customer success across the globe.
