Customs Cargo Declaration is a general declaration that is used for all customs regimes set by Russian customs legislation. At present the functionality for declaring and tracking the Custom/Cargo Declaration number part of Russian custom procedure in not available in the standard SAP. As this number is generated by Russian Customs, splitting of the number is not allowed and thus one cannot make use of Text/Batch. The export/Import model also does not gives the required range needed for the number in any field. The Custom/Cargo Declaration number [also known as GTD], is a 26 digit alphanumeric number is an important part of custom formalities when a freight is subjected to a custom procedure by including its characteristics to the custom documents and registration of these documents according to the requirements for foreign trade statistics of the Russian Federation. GTD is tracked right from the time the material is imported (GR via Customs) to Russia till the time it reaches the customer (Invoice). This number is changed with each imported load and the sale of the materials has to have the exact numbers for legal purposes. Example: If 700 units of material A have GTD number as ZZ01, once the 700 units are exhausted, then the next X units have to automatically pick up the next GTD number. In my coming blog, I would try to propose a technical and a functional model/solution which can be used for tracking the GTD number right from the material creation stage to the final invoicing stage.
