In comments to Somnath's blog on the Saturday 03-December-2011 SAP Inside Track India event, happening in two locations simultaneously, Anjaneya Bhardwaj asked about T Shirts.

... [I] didn't find enough acceptance/rejection for it, we need to build momentum so that members who have signed on to reach venue as well ....and they have a feeling what they are up to ( T-Shirt may be a beginning ... ) suggest you write a blog [Edited]

Since I can push a blog post out faster, I'm jumping in (not sure if that request was to me or to Somnath).

The first issue is whether someone who signs up for a free event will show up.  We know that if you pay good money, the chances are higher that you will make an effort to be there.  It it's free, and something comes up, or you're tired, or traffic is heavy (can't imagine that in Bangalore or Kolkata...) then you might skip it.  The awesomeness of the opportunity might not be enough, so we will have prizes/giveaways.

To have T Shirts for attendees, you would need a sponsor, and a place that can make them quickly - it's just over a week away.  You could ask people to chip in for the shirts when they pick them up, but someone has to put an order in quickly.  Then there's the question of size.  Small, medium, large, extra large, how many of each? Better have more than enough, or someone will have tight or baggy clothes.

It's probably impossible to have everyone's SCN ID (forget Twitter, not enough information) on shirts, even with the speed (and quantity) of tailors in India.  As I've looked at the sign-up list, I've had a hard time identifying SCN business cards for each person, not to mention few have contact information on them (see mine for an over-the-top example).

The images below are culled from my event files, with the exception of Kumud's new look.  You'll find a few Mentor shirts, ASUG volunteer logos, some custom-mades, and the odd suit (can't keep them out, they might need a hug).

Good luck.

I'll leave you with a quote from the typical Oscar night red carpet interview (think 30-second SCNotties clip here, hint hint): "who are you wearing?"
