My Relation to SAP: public
Short Bio: Hi - I'm an independent (ahem!) analyst, SAP Mentor and Enterprise Irregular who blogs and videocasts on enterprise trends.I'm a co-founder of JD-OD.com (2012) and most recently, diginomica.com - 'Insights for the Digital Enterprise.' diginomica, co-founded by yours truly and four other long-time enterprise bloggers, is focused on providing original commentary focused solely on the enterprise, without consumer tech fluffery - or so we like to think. You be the judge. In 2012, in cahoots with my video partner in crime Dennis Howlett, I launched JD-OD.com - a video commentary web site for the on-demand enterprise. I'm also the mad scientist behind JonERP.com (founded in 2007) featuring my podcast and video series. How do I pay the bills? Aside from media revenues, my client services are focused on the creative integration of media into a mold-breaking business strategy. Basically I like to help SAP third party firms with a fire in their belly go-to-market, including HANA and mobility startups. This usually means rethinking failed marketing, lead gen and go-to-market practices that no longer work in the 'attention economy' where content is key and community trumps broadcasting. Speaking of community, I consider being an SAP Mentor one of the greatest honors in my professional career. After five years (or so) as a Mentor, I am still a huge believer in grassroots community projects. Along those lines, the latest is that I'm a founding member of the HANA Distinguished Engineers Council, which is tasked with identifying and cultivating field-tested HANA experts and community leaders essential for HANA project success. This isn't a classic grassroots project like the 'certification five', because the HDE initiative is partially funded by SAP, but I think building what I call a 'culture of excellence' around HANA is crucial.Oh, and I'm also the author of three self-published non-fiction books, including Resumes from Hell, a humorous “how-not-to” of the worst resumes ever created, and the SAP Consultant Handbook. In my non-existent free time I love to go to local live music, write, and sometimes film local productions for my local cable station. Have video gear - will travel. Hope so see you soon at an SAP show...in the meantime, ping me here...
Areas of Expertise: SAP startups and go-to-market, SAP HANA/mobile/cloud startup strategy, SAP skills and market trends, enterprise trends, content marketing, social media (hopefully the no-BS kind), SAP career, hiring and consulting trends, SEO/social search, business process experts, SAP certification, HANA Distinguished Engineers.
Additional Info: Jon's Master Blog/Video/Podcast Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/jonerpfeedsJon's video commentary site: http://www.JD-OD.comI'm a fan of spirited enterprise conversation, and don't mind a bit of satirical snark as long as we don't get absurdly cynical. Contact me on the social platform of your choice and we can hash this out...Oh, and I used to love talking about the business process expert skills evolution on SCN - though this is no longer considered a hot topic I still think it's vitally important and welcome any banter/thinking about this.
