SAP decided to develop the next version of the virus scan interface (known as NW-VSI) and make that available in 2012. Already in the first version, which was available for SAP partners up to recently, all third party vendors of virus scan engines had the possibility to get certified with SAP NetWeaver application servers for their virus scan engines. This will not change. In the new version, applications (and therefore customers) will be able to decide, which file types are allowed to be uploaded. This certification will be an update of the formerly available certification scenario NW-VSI. Watch out for more news about the exact delivery date in 2012.
