This post we are back to the cost display within the service order.  This piece of configuration is something I haven't used in the past, but after viewing, I'm rather interested in trying it in a real world setting.  The focus of this piece of configuration is to give you a quick peak of the all of the cost elements that probably "should" be mapped into a value category.  Now keep in mind, not all of the cost elements will be used, so it's not vital, but often there might be a single cost element that shows up from time to time and you may have forgot to map it.  This configuration will show it to you.

If you go to transaction SPRO: Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -->maintenance and service processing--> basic settings--> settings for display of costs-->check consistency of value category assignment.

Select your controlling area.

Then you can expand the list.  For me, this is mostly informational, but you do have the option of changing cost elements within this view as well.
