This section allows you to define defaults at a transaction level.  Please update this carefully.  It is not specific to any plants.  So it’s global.  Change with caution.

IMG-->Plant Maintenance and Customer Service-->Maintenance and Service Processing-->Maintenance and Service Notifications-->Notification Creation-->Notification Types-->Define Transaction Start Values

This screen will provide you all the different transactions involved in notifications.  Remember to be careful here, this impacts not only service, but quality and every other notification type.

Select the transaction.  Here you have the option to enter in a notification type, and even an initial function code.  The check box at the end gives you the option to enter in the initial screen.  If this is blank, you skip the first screen and move right to processing.  In general, for transaction like IW51, I HIGHLY encourage you to keep this box checked. This way if other areas in your instance want to override the defaults, they have the options.

The initial funct. Code is something a bit different.  Here’s a list of your options.

In general, MELD is what I recommend, but depending on your organization, you can actually change to one of the other areas if they deserve more attention than the header
