So following a good trip across the Channel to Paris on EuroStar the CompriseIT #SAPTrainRace team have cleared the first hurdle of the Gateway challenge which was to find a name for the team.

Based on how much more creative the team got on the train here after "slightly less than 2 drinks" the name had to be Inebriati taken from the Mitchell and Webb sketch which you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTSCppeFzX4.

So the big test for the #SAPTrainRace is to see if the promise of SAP NetWeaver Gateway can be realised. Will Gateway see an explosion of creativity exposing SAP business logic to worlds it has not been seen in before ?

The early signs are good and each team seems to have secret plans for how they are going to exploit Gateway and WebDynpro is now where to be seen 🙂

The idea I liked best from yesterdays booze-storming was to create an application that could be quickly deployed to enable Greece to hold its referendum quickly and hence save the EuroZone. This idea has gone down in flames now that Greece have been told to get back on the Euro Train 🙂

Anyway.....what does we have...

We have our secret booze fuelled scenario which in the cold light of day might be a bit too ambitious including new ERP Gateway OData Services, jQuery, XCode, Flash Builder, Facebook, Google+, SAP BPM, Windows Mobile 7 and PHP.

We have a name “The Inebriati – Anything is Possible”.

We have lots of enthusiasm.

We have a nice hotel.

Good luck to all the other teams, follow us all using the #SAPTrainRace or #Inebriati hash tag.

So no sleep until bedtime 🙂
