I am about to head to Sydney for a week of SAP as part of the SAP Australian User Group (SAUG) Summit. Before I attend the Summit I will be participating in the Australian SAP Innojam. I am a bit apprehensive about my contributions being a non-techy. But an exciting thing about this event is that it will be held at a university and hopefully will involve some students. What a great learning experience! I will blog about the Innojam once I have survived it.
The SAUG Summit has been conducted for the past 6 years and is the biggest SAP related event in the region. Over the years I have been involved with organising the event. Although this is a lot of work it also means I can hear the speakers I want to. The only problem this year there are too many sessions I want to attend. The keynotes are always good and there are 7 of them this year. Fonterra will be presenting about their latest SAP roadmap. They presented a number of years ago so it will be interesting to see how the roadmap has changed. Ray Wang and Dr Jeff Word have keynotes and not much more can be said about the quality of these two. Bridgette Chambers, CEO of ASUG, will present on how to assess the value of SAP implementations moving forward. Peter Mahler from Vitae Partners will talk on how to manage, motivate and inspire teams on large IT transformation projects. The final keynote involves many of the Aussie SAP Mentors on stage with Ray Wang discussing their key take-aways from the Summit. I think it will be difficult to get a word in.
I cannot end the blog without mentioning the attendance of Mr BI himself, Ingo Hilgefort ,who will be conducting a workshop and a BI round table.
In summary 7 keynotes, 35 sessions, 3 workshops, 10 demonstrations involving 70 presenters including 7 SAP Mentors and the SAP Innojam. Too much to see but I will try and blog about the event each day if I can find the time.
