This blog is in continuation with my previous blog, which was on SuPM and CI. Let me continue my Blog Journey to explain the SAP Partner enablement program held by SAP India on the second day, which helped Pre-sales and Sales team understand the processes in detail on EHSM (Environmental Health and Safety Management). EHSM comprises of Product Safety & Stewardship (PSS), Operational Health & Safety (OHS) and Environmental Compliance. (EC)

The second day was on Product Safety and Stewardship (PSS), taken by Christian Vogler, Solution Expert from Technidata AG. The sessions covered topics on market trends, business drivers, product compliance in different industries, followed by various business processes and a useful demo on the product.

He showed us the list of Regulations across the geography in terms of PSS, but yet to discover the Regulations specific to India. The SAP solution generates necessary documents like MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), Labels for Hazardous substances, Dangerous Goods documents, and these were clearly demonstrated using the demo. One interesting note on these documents is that these docs could be generated in many languages, and Christian showed us the MSDS in our National language Hindi. This Multi-lingual reports generated has many advantages, like including Graphics to improve the quality of the report.

Demos on Dangerous Goods Management, Global Label Management, and information on REACH (Regulation, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals) were also shared by the presenter, with the customer success stories and their testimonials on the SAP PSS product.

The entire session went on with useful demos on different business processes and made us understand how Product Safety and Stewardship can be ensured using SAP’s solution.

The differentiation of EHSM product was clearly given using the below example, which is self-explanatory:

The above schematic explains the EHSM components with an example case study.

The details on the third day session will be given in my next blog.
