I live on a farm.  I'm not a farmer, although I grow a lot of the food I eat (in fact Christmas dinner was 100% food we grew ourselves including the turkey and blackberry wine).  I am a software engineer and as a result I spend a lot of computer time.  After several hours in front of a screen my head is spinning.  This is where the farm makes me a better software engineer and SAP employee.  I have solved some very complicated problems, developed some innovative strategies and made several realizations while weeding, planting seeds or turning the soil.  I find the routine (aka boring) tasks on the farm to be meditative and thus allow the right side of my brain to engage and innovate.

This is a motivation and rationale behind the David Suzuki Foundation 30x30 Nature Challenge.  The challenge is to spend at least 30 minutes per day in nature for 30 days in May.  Join the SAP Labs Canada team in this challenge and become healthy and happier.
