Introducing Project Omega:  An operational management and reporting solution for non-profits

A new project from SAP Research is now here and we want your feedback! The team (in Montreal, Boston and Palo Alto) have been working on a cloud-based solution for non-profit organizations.  Orgs that are asking questions like these are perfect candidates for the application:

  • How do I manage volunteers?
  • How do I recruit members?
  • How do we collaborate?
  • How do I reach out to donors?
  • How do I manage services?

Through Omega, non-profits can define volunteer openings, respond to volunteer applications and track and report on volunteer activities. There is a built-in web presence and email communications functions, and coming soon social media integration.  Also included are group calendaring, document sharing and group project management features. All of this is underpinned by detailed administration and security management.

Available through any web browser, a central calendar ties together everything going on in your organization. The data online in a safe, stable and secure environment - no machines to manage and data can be imported/exported from your existing tools. The application is customizable to meet your operational needs.

We have already been previewing and testing with a small group of non-profits across Canada and the United States. We are very excited to get more real world feedback and input on the application, functionality and what should come next.

Check it out at http://preview.omegaportal.org. You can also preview the source code through SAP's Code Exchange. We want your feedback and help to make this the best fit for non-profit organizations.

And if you are coming to Innovation Weekend in Las Vegas, you will be able to meet with members of the project team and use Omega as part of your solution!
