PAK (Planning Application Kit) has been a great improvement for performance in Planning on BW ( Integrated Planning and BPC). Certainly there are do's and dont's, which have a huge impact on the actual result and performance at the end. So basically if implemented wrongly PAK / HANA can have almost no impact on performance whatsoever. Here I want to introduce you to our real-case scenario with PAK at Siemens Energy, which had a huge impact on performance.
Please find below our slides with reference to this implementation and the end-results. The most important message here is, that we were able to improve the performance from over 10min. down to 19sec. Yes, you read right....19sec.!
