Relationships with the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are important to our company, who delivers automotive bumper, axle and frame products to automotive manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Toyota, BMW and FAW-VW.
For us, an integrated supply network and sales network along the supply chain that optimizes cooperation between the OEMs and us was vital to its success. Not only was it important to deliver goods and services of high quality to customers and partners, but also needed to streamline its business processes and supply chain to lower costs and provide a faster response to changing market demands.
Implementing SAP solutions helped us to optimize its supply chain, resulting in higher efficiencies and better control throughout the organization. This enabled to achieve its objective of maintaining a strong cooperation between them and their business partners, along with synchronized research and development, production planning, and coordination in work processes.

Weather the Storm of Economic Crisis
We are facing challenging times during the worldwide economic slump which quickly spread from the USA to Europe and then Asia. Even countries such as China and India, which until recently have been considered miracle-markets cannot escape the force of this crisis. The incoming orders, sales and profits of the fourth quarter of 2008 have fallen below forecasted figures and the developments of the coming months are difficult to predict. At any rate we will record less incoming orders than initially planned and have therefore taken measures to protect our business in this difficult market environment.
We have the following strategies base on SAP solutions for Automotive:
- Put a hold on new investments control and budget approval procedure in Financial solutions, until we know the real impacts of the situation.
- The same applies to the enlargement of capacities and the building of new plants, while another important point will be the reduction of our stocks.
- What we do not want to do is to cut the spending on research and development as our innovations have always provided us with the crucial competitive advantage and will do so in the future.
