Session Abstract
SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) does not validate the content of received messages against the data type definitions of the integration repository. When an invalid message is received, message mapping can fail or the final receiver of the message may reject it – the best-case scenario. In the worst-case scenario, message mapping is successful and the message is processed successfully at the receiver, potentially posting invalid data in the receiving system. The resulting data errors can only be discovered manually and will likely never be discovered.
This session outlines several approaches to message validation in SAP NetWeaver XI, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. After this session, you will not only have a good understanding of why message validation is important and why it is not trivial to implement, you will also have the basic knowledge required to start implementing message validation in SAP NetWeaver XI.
