Do you require a minimized downtime for the software maintenance of your PI systems? Are the maintenance downtimes becoming critical for your business? If so, then we have good news for you. Many customers are already expounding the benefits of our near Zero Downtime Maintenance (nZDM) offering for importing Support Package Stacks with minimal business downtime. Therefore, we are considering extending the upgrade scenarios to include the EHP use case, namely for the upgrade from SAP NetWeaver PI 7.10 or 7.11 (dual stack) to SAP NetWeaver PI 7.30 / 7.31 (dual stack).

The nZDM tools will be provided free-of-charge as part of the SL Toolset. Initial feasibility studies have shown that it is certainly possible to enhance the existing procedure, but that it would require significant development investment. We therefore want to assess if there is sufficient customer and partner demand for the upgrade.

We would welcome your input on the following information and question:

  • Are you interested in the EHP upgrade procedure using nZDM tools? Do you have any questions? If so, send an e-mail to udo.paltzer@sap.com. The email with the expression of a principle interest could be something like 'We are interested in the nZDM EHP upgrade procedure and could use it end of 2012 / during 2013. Our start release is PI 7.1x (please specify), and our target release is PI 7.3x (please specify)'.

  • Please note that the nZDM EHP upgrade procedure will not be developed if there has not been sufficient interest by the end of March 2012.

  • To release the nZDM tools for the upgrade of other scenarios, e. g. from SAP NetWeaver PI 7.30 to PI 7.31 or SAP NetWeaver PI 7.0 to PI 7.31, is currently not in focus. However, once the nZDM tools for the EHP upgrade from SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1x to PI 7.3x would be available, the nZDM procedure for the upgrade from SAP NetWeaver PI 7.30 to PI 7.31 could be a next scenario that development can investigate, since these two upgrade scenarios are technically rather similar.

Thank you in advance for your feedback and interest in the EHP upgrade procedure using the nZDM tools.
