For the eighth time, the German-speaking SAP User Group (DSAG) is holding its DSAG Technology Days – its annual event for technology-oriented work groups - on February 23-24, 2010 in Mannheim, Germany.

Participants will get together during presentations, forums, and discussion panels to talk about the latest developments. Interesting keynotes by customers and members of SAP's executive board will complete the agenda.

The central theme of the technology days in 2010 is „Identifying, Managing and Avoiding Complexity“, and the theme runs like a red thread through the keynotes and the 100 presentations.

Do not miss the presentation of Guy Bavlythe new head of Solution management Portal/KMC and Dashboard Builder. He will introduce himself in his new role at the DSAG technology days and will present the roadmap and strategy of SAP NetWeaver Portal for 2010 and above.

How to Optimize SAP Flex Applications Using Adobe LC Data Services and Blaze Data Services

More and more developers are interested in developing Rich Internet applications using Adobe Flex with SAP, but they struggle with the Flex remoting model. Many of these developers don't know that Adobe also has a Data Services component that provides binary messaging and also manages synchronization, paging, conflict resolution, and offline access. In this session you will learn about LiveCycle DS and the free, open source version, Blaze DS, which any Flex developer can leverage. This session will include demos, real examples and code samples shown in Flex Builder. This session is also designed to complement and leverage other RIA topics that are being presented by Adobe and SAP, namely how to build a custom flex control, and integrating the control into Web Dynpro using rich islands technology.

Forums are now available as of SAP NetWeaver 2004 SP Stack 20 as well as SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (formerly known as SAP NW 2004s) SP Stack 12. For more information you can read the What you need to know about the new forums in SAP NetWeaver Portal.

Here are some of the feature highlights:

  • The forums are designed with intuitive user interfaces that enable users to discuss common issues and topics, post questions and announcements to the community, watch forums (with notifications) and get updates on posted comments. Users can also create draft versions of postings, personalize their forum themes, or vote in polls.
  • Forums also include extensive and easy-to-use moderation features such as content control by approval processes, by deleting and moving content, and also by closing discussions.
  • The web-based forums admin tool makes it easy to delete, edit and move messages, manage permission-levels and organize the hierarchy of categories and forums.

Since they are available, forums have been downloaded from Service Marketplace by many SAP customers and internal SAP users. Thanks for your interest in our new Portal functionality!!!
