Hi,

What is the purpose of the Re-Labling??

Is it a separate process for you??

I understand the relabling as a separate proces, in which the packing and labling is changed to a new one after import (some thing like that)..

If this is the case, you need to go with production/Process Orders, to capture the Activity and Material costs..

Pl. eloborate..

Your understanding is fully correct. We purchase a material from a supplier that we relabel afterwards. currently the relabelling is just done via a material to material movement (mvt 309). But as we would like to capture the cost for that additional work and reflect in the material cost we only see the option to do that via process order, which is fine when the relabelling is done on a production plant as there the necessary customizing is set up. But occacionally we would like to process the relabelling on RDC (Regional Distribution Centers) and there no production config is there. Therefore we are looking for another option then process order.

Anyway many thanks for your quick input, it's highly appriciated.

Hi,

Distribution centers can also be configured as Manufacturing Plants and you can perform manufacturing..

But, the Leagel procedures/requirements will not allow this..(i guess)

Trading Plant can not be a Manufacturing Plant..

So, you can follow the sub contracting route to capture the manufacturing cost.. (it's only a suggestion: thi depends on the physical distance from the DC to the manufacturing plant)

Regarding the option of using a sub contracting PO. The intension then would be to place the PO to a manufacturing plant right? And the receiving plant is the Distribution Center?
