The new SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version is be available for download. The new Version will also run on Windows Vista.

Please note that the SAP Management Console is included in the download package and should be installed first, if not already present on your system.

The download page is available at:

The same download procedure as in earlier versions applies, download both archives, place it into the same folder and extract SAPNW7.01ABAPTrial.part1.rar only.

Hello everyone

I'm new to SAP and I'm interested in learning ABAP. I'd lke to know if I downloaded this "SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SP0 ABAP Trial Version" - would that be enough to learn and experiment with most aspects of ABAP? Basically I would like to know if it will provide the development environment needed to get a solid understanding of ABAP.?

you need additionally the sources on SDN to do some tutorial.

there is also a 7.02 64 bit for use with 64 bit Win.

I tried to download either IE8 and Google Chrome on Win7.

May I download "REPOSRC.001" as a single file from somewhere like FTP repository?

Hi there!

I'm new on this and i'm trying to install the NetWeaver 7.01 SP0 ABAP Trial Version but i found an issue when running the installer. A pop up window comes up throwing an Exception like this:

java.lang.NoClassFoundDefFoundError: run Exception in thread 'main'.

I dont know whats wrong... Could anybody help me?

Today I resolve this! In Virtual PC I had connected an external folder, C: on my local hard drive, connected as Z:. Disconnecting this resolved this error.

Dear experts,

I am trying to install NW701 EHP1 at virtual PC windows XP on windows 7. This virtual XP machine has more than 2 GB RAM. The installation is failing at phase 29 with error message 'java processes of instance BHD/JC00 did not reach partrunning state.. giving up after 30 minutes'.

Pls let me know what is wrong or any solution to this issue.

Hi Klaus,

I am trying to install the SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SP0 ABAP Trial Version, but the installer does not move forward from the "Import ABAP" phase. And today is the third day it is in the same phase, which really drives me crazy.

This is the second time it is stuck in the same phase. I tried uninstalling the system after the first time it stuck, and this is the second time i am installing the system, but still cannot make it. I am not getting any error, the status bar shows the message: "Import Monitor jobs: running 3, waiting 12, completed 13, failed 0, total 28" since 3 days! Can you let me know how does it normally take?

For some reason, I am never able to download the ABAP trial version.

Each time I get an error message stating that there is trouble completing the download request.

Good Day to you all,

Is anyone else having problems downloading in the last few days.

I started downloading 2 days ago and encounter the same problem every time. The download stops after about 10% download using Internet Explorer and Firefox. Then I tried using FDM (free download manager), it starts downloading. Then at between 7-10% it stops and gives an access denied error.

It's as if the server disconnects and don't let me back in.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I got the same error when i tried to log in for the first time. but was able to rectify it.

First of all make sure that the server and the database are turned on, i.e. they are green.

then log on through the SAP GUI, and make sure you enter the correct value in the "Application server" field. the value to be entered here is the "Host name" that you might have set during the installation of the SAPINST exe in the defining parameters phase.

Developer edition is for developers and needs license key after its limited use (30 days).

Trial version has a longer period of expiration (90 days).

I am pretty sure that I am speaking for many people who are frustrated, myself included, with the installation process after spending days or weeks of installing and re-installing this ABAP trial version. I've tried to install on my desktop and laptop with different settings and tweaks and yet most instances the installation fails with some cryptic error messages that you would need a PH D to understand them. Don't get me wrong. I am not some computer illiterate guy. Actually I am an IT guy. But I've never had so much trouble "installing" software like this one. SAP may be the best ERP system in the world but they don't seem to know how to make installation process user-friendly. For SAP, this is a critical mistake in my opinion. More and more people are interested in learning SAP system, myself included, and if installing a trial version is so difficult like this then it would turn people away.

My problems so far are :

1. Installation is just so damn(excuse my language) difficult with so many different error messages at so many different stages. Just look at the number of people crying for help in this forum.

2. With current trend moving towards 64 bit system, I wonder why SAP is so late(in this case impossible) to support X64.

3. After finally installing the trial version successfully(I still don't know why it worked), it no longer works after windows version upgrade. Another bummer.

Hi Klaus,

I have installed the SAP GUI and the Trail Netweaver and the MAXDB software. However the MAXDB software cannot find any database. It gives me error "-4 database instance not found". How do I fix this?

I use the SAP Managment Console and can start the instance. However MAXDB cannot seem to find it.

My computer is a Windows Vista Home Edition, 32 bit and I beleive it is NTFS. My harddrive has 2 logical partitions(C: and D:).

Hi

I have had NW 7.01 trial running on VISTA home premium for about a month. I just upgraded to windows 7 home premium, and SAP has stopped working. In SAPMMC when i start the NSP database the message server starts OK and runs. The dispatcher starts but cannot connect to the message server, then stops. The maxdb database is running OK, can use SQLstudio to query.

Any suggestions on getting the dispatcher to run would be appreciated.

Trial is working for me on a VM XP Pro box. It did however take me a while to work out how to get BW working.

For example in the case of Linux, can I use Red Hat or the Host should be specific? If this is the case can you list which are the recomemded OS systems to run this Trail?

Dear all

i need help from you. i have completely install the trial verson after central system installation my NSP is started automatically & show green color than i stoped it. and install sapgui after gui installation i install max db consol & sql they are also running.

But problem is that now i go to logon sap pad and creat NSP local it does't start. it gives wsaeconnrefused error.

and my NSP is not started also it ask me for user password tell me which user & password is used there to start it.

i am unable to start application server from bcuser & minisap password..

help me wat to doo... my db consol & sql analyser is runnibf using control & sapNSP user...

i have a netbook with XP (not pro)

i updated java virtual machine, installed msloopback

the installation is stopping with the following message :

hi,

i don't have these directories anywhere, so can't help you on that.

One thing i did have to do on VISTA was right click and "run as administrator" to get round the user access control.

When i put in on to an XP pro machine it worked 1st time.
