Does CR XI Developer add anything to MS Visual Web Developer?

These are basic questions but Iu2019m having trouble tracking down answer in application help or online help.

We have u201CCR XI Developer; product type fullu201D version, according to the report designer help. This wasnu2019t bought with intent of doing anything but developing report definitions, but now Iu2019m wondering:

We also have Visual Studio 2005. Does the CR Developer give us a more featurey CR Viewer control, compared to the control that comes with VS2005 Visual Web Developer? Iu2019m developing specifically for ASP.net applications. I havenu2019t come across anything I canu2019t do with the comes-with-VS version yet, but I do want to know if I have a more u201Cadvancedu201D control I can use.

If there is a different viewer control available to owners of CR Dev, how do I make it available to VS u2013 does CR XI Dev come with an installer or a merge module, so I should track down our distribution?

From my understanding VS2005 Visual Web Developer is considered an express version of Visual Studio which means it does not come with a version of Crystal Reports, and full versions of Crystal Reports will not integrate into the IDE.

If you have VS2005 standard or professional, in order to use the full version of Crystal Reports, you must have Crystal Reports XIr2 Developer edition (free upgrade from XI) or Crystal Reports 2008. XI release 1 is not compatible with VS 2005 and the 2.0 .NET framework.

Thanks, this is helpful. I misspoke about the VS product name - I just meant whatever-the-software-in-VS-2005-profsesional-that-creates-asp.net-applications is called. Getting the product names straight is the hardest part of asking questions.

Anyway, question answered.
