MINORITY INTEREST CALCULATION IS DONE WITH WRONG ACCOUNT

Former Member

Hello SEM Guru's

Problem arise in Production Server

An error we have discovered in the functionality of the automated Minority Interest calculation:

It is generating MI on an account which should not be subject to this consol-elimination, i.e., BCS is generating incorrect journal entries which we are being forced to manually reverse. Please ensure that this case is routed to someone conversant with the BCS application.

Observation-of-output has noted that the "Consol of Invest" UCMON task creates Minority Interest entries on the following basis, offsetting the activity in the trigger code at the set Minority Interest rate:

Current R/E adjusted against MI in the P&L

CTA adjusted against itself

Adjustment to RE adjusted against itself.

All MI-entries offset to MI-Ret Earnings.

It is the third trigger, for Adjustment to RE, that we need to be removed. In most cases, Retained Earnings adjustments are not subject to Minority Interest reclassification

Please help me to solve the problem

In my development server there is no data, I suggest to client about the solution

Regards

Venkat V

Hi Venkat and welcome to SDN!

It's a pity that you apparently didn't read the rules of engagement:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/rulesofEngagement

Since you are novice I have to issue some warnings:

Warning 1: Do not shout in the forum (all uppercase letters in the thread name)

Warning 2: Give the clear picture and as much details as possible, especially in questions regarding the most complicated theme in consolidation: CoI.

Hints:

- Adjustment to RE adjusted against itself -- This is not readable. Give us journal entries.

- It is the third trigger, for Adjustment to RE -- what's this all about?

- In most cases, Retained Earnings adjustments are not subject to Minority Interest reclassification -- what's this all about?

- describe your hierarchy of ConsUnits and their accounting technics assigned

- describe your settings in CoI

- describe what data you entered (investments & equity) and how

- what technic was used for the unit for which the calculation was wrong?

- was it the first or consequent consolidation?
