RSECADMIN - Generation of Authorizations

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

i created an ODS object for generating and assigning the authorizations to the users. After filling this ODS I put the technical name of that into "flat authorizations" and into "authorized user assignment" (RSECADMIN). After I pushed "start generation" in the generation log everything was green, say every authorization was successful generated AND assigned to the relevant users. BUT checking the authorizations for each user in SU01 I do not find these generated auth.s assigned under "profiles". What could be the problem?

(Info: generation from the same ODS object has worked perfect with RSSM.)

Thx.

In RSECADMIN under "user assigment" do u see the authorization objects assigned to user?? If you dont see anything there then I suggest u check the generation log text to see what it says.

Also If you dont mind me asking this: If we already had the generated profiles in 3.5 wouldnt it be easier to just run the program and convert the profiles in BI7.

No, unfortunately it would not be easier.. Because because of change of user/customer needs/requirements/organisation role/etc.. we have to generate the authorizations quite often. Therefore the whole generation process must be possible to be completed completely with BI 7. (BTW -just out of curiosity- which program is suited for this convertion?)

Thanks for the hint, I will check it tomorrow!

Hi,

The generation part I was refering to was the generation of migrated profiles from 3.5 to 7 which is done by rsec_migration.

Once you have the system in analysis authorization generally it would be easy to make changes and create auth objects and assign it to users or roles.

Please check in RSECADMIN whether or not the authorizations have been assigned. We have no knowledge about any issues / bugs with this feature.

Cheers
