Hi jeevan

HRA will be calculated on 3 ways

1. actual HRA paid

2. 10%Basic pay - actual rent paid

3. 40% of basic pay

among these three which ever will low amount that should be exempted.

you can take this 1900as one allowance wage type. if this is monthly regular income means then go 0008, if it is irregular income means you can give it in 14 or 15 ITs.

HRA will be exempted not on base of Basic pay it will exempted on some other wage types also. you need tofind out with you client what are the wagetypes has to calculate for hra exemption

Hi vincent,

my client have two payscale structures, new pay structure and old pay structure, 1900 is amount deduction according to the union agreement.

They require the above calcuation based on the amount, 1900 will not change, may be percentage will change.

thanks
