System not Starting and issue in MMC

Dears,

Till Friday our NET server was working fine,I don't know since yesterday when we

start our MMC nothing was available below process list like ABAP

table,J2ee process table.Try also to start the SAP system by rightclicking

but nothing happened.

Also executed commands on OS level to start sap system but nothing

happened.

E:\usr\sap\NET\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386>startsap name=NET nr=00

SAPDIAHOST=prosindia

STARTSAP failed

Details are written to E:\usr\sap\NET\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386\startNET.log

In startNET.log file:

running sapstart.exe name=NET nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=prosindia -wait

SAPSTART finished successfully on prosindia_NET_00, but at least one

process doesn't run correctly:

but server didn't get started.

Also deleted and added services by sapstartsrv.exe but same situation.

Checked all trace file but no file contain any entry after friday thus that means on executing sapstart command and by MMC nothing is happening means even they are not able to call exe file.

Also restored Usr and databse backup but error is still there.

So i thing there may be some issue in system files or configuration.

Please suggest.

Hello,

problem here was in update phase MAIN_SWITCH/STARTSAP_TRANS.

Shadow instance didn't come up.

sapcontrol gave:

name, description, dispstatus, textstatus, starttime, elapsedtime, pid

msg_server, MessageServer, GREEN, Running

enserver, EnqueueServer, YELLOW, Running but not responding

disp+work, Dispatcher, GRAY, Stopped

Problem was snc - we solved with setting parameter snc/enable to 0 in shadow instance profile.

Goto Run Directory and enter sapstart srv

It will ask system deatails, provile all details. User will be SAPService<SID>.

then select Start profile ( not Instance profile).

Then restart the service, then start sap.

Could anybody please post what exactly has been done to solve this problem?

Server information in Instance profile was incorrect and fixed?

Cause I have the same issue, too.

Hi Shiva,

I have got the same problem , If i clicked MMC its getting hanged . & i am getting same error as yours.

Can you explain me in detail steps has to be done .

If as system is not coming up the first thing to check is

dev_disp

dev_w0

and if the executables (disp+work etc.) are available.

Executables are available and as i said no trace file conatins any entry after friday so dev_disp,dev_w0 also does not contain any entry after friday.

Hi,

Installing MMC only does not solved your problem if you are not able to start SAP system form os level.

check event viewer for failed services.

one query: are you using ABAP + JAVA or ABAP only system?

MMC issue is resolved but still system is not getting up and in

instance 00 process enserver.exe is getting stopped.

In Event Viewer sees logs:

[CreateOsShm] CreateFileMapping(37,36 KB) failed with Err=5 ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED: Access is denied.

Faulting application disp+work.EXE, version 7000.159.14.64329, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.3959, fault address 0x000216b4.
