Sales orders Cumulation.

Hi Friends,

I will be getting sales orders from 10 customers for the same material. When I run MRP system will generate 10 Planned orders and I has to process 10 Process Orders which is more time consuming .

Please Advise me is there is any way to cumulate the sale order quantities and generate only one planned order for total quantity so that i can only process one process order.

Regards,

Pradeep.

Dear,

This is not possible. you will get two planned orders

In MTO Scenario system will create individual receipt elements per Sales Order. Hope clear to you.

It is possible in MTS.

Pradeep,

Although classic Make to stock usually has manufacturing building toward a forecast, forecasts are not strictly necessary for MTS.

The business scenario you have just described IS Make to Stock (eg, when you build your materials, they are not destined for a particular sales order requirement, but can be used for ANY Sales order for that material). You should be using a Make to Stock Planning strategy, probably using a period-based lot size.

This is not a work-around, this is a standard SAP solution for the business scenario you have described.

one of the reason SAP has different component for make to order scenario eg strategy 20 in stock/requirement list is that..you can tell customer all the time status of order placed ie at which state the order is at right now..in standard SAP with make to order scenario it is not possible to combine all the sales order and get the result with one procurement element ie planned order..

As you are working in Make to Order scenario (Sales order), MRP will create individual planned order having assignment for each sales order. This is required because the goods that you manufacture will be specific for that customer/sales order.
