T9 Tables in SAP

Hi all,

i Want to know the significance of Tables starting with T9 in SAP. like T9erw,T9ssl .......

Can we(developer) create those tables .

hi Sai,

SAP does not strictly enforce the naming of tables, it is more of a convention. There are ways around it. This naming convention is from the R/2 days (called ATAB tables), where all tables started with a T and you could give it up to four more digits. You were supposed to use 3 numeric and an optional character, and you were supposed to start the numerics with 9. Even then, you could name tables differently, if you wanted to. But I strongly recommend that you stick to the current naming convention, unless you have reasons not to (I don't know any). This protects you from future upgrades. AFAIK, SAP allows for non-Z and non-Y customer name spaces, but you will have to register with them, so they know it is taken. I wouldn't be surprised, if they charged for that. Most people simply stick to the Z* convention. You could call it ZZT9* as a compromise...

T9* is a special table is intended for the pooled tables in the ATAB pool..

Yes u can create d table starting with T9.

Generally T tables are used as Check tables for the

fields. Also these store the TEXT (descriptions) for the

values.

T9 tables also are used to store the TEXTS

for Ex: T9PRO is used to store descriptions for Products

We cannot create T tables.(only Z or Y tables can be

created by a developer)

HI sai ram,

I don't think if there is any specific commonality in the T9 tables. I see only three tables starting with T9.

YOu cannot create Tables starting with any letter.

YOu can only create tables starting with Z or Y.

i am worrking only with T9 tables .

check if u can find tables like T9erw,t9fo1,

i no more than 100 tables...

and all these tables look customerr specific
