We have a customer who is using MS CRM over HTTPS for out of the network access to Outlook and MS CRM within Outlook.
Does anyone know whether the SAP Outlook Integration Standalone add-on for 2007A will operate (sync/save email as activity etc) using a HTTPS connection?
Many Thanks
Brodie
Dear Brodie,
SAP Business One Outlook Integration (Standalone) needs to have Microsoft Outlook installed on the workstation.
Refer to [http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/documentation|http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/documentation].
So if the locally installed Microsoft Outlook is able to connect to (for excample) an Exchange Server in order to sync its own emails, then its no problem for Outlook Integration too.
By the way:
I think it was originally developed for Sales persons, who are visiting their customers, but either no or very limited bandwith is available in order to connect to any network outside the local Intranet. These Sales persons does not need to have a SAP Business One client installed on their laptop, but only the Standalone version of Outlook Integration (OI) and Microsoft Outlook itself.
So far as I can see the aim of OI is beeing able to work without any network access when onsite.

Hi Mario,
I am having similar scenario
1. SAP B1 database is on a File server,
2. Its accessed by user by Using RDC to a terminal server
We want to integrate Outlook which uses Exchange Server via https. Can you advise
1. Where to get the installer of OI for client machine (I have searched allover). The link you have given is moved now.
2. Does user needs to have B1 user name and password in order to get connected.
Regards
Deepak

Hi Mario,
Can you explain a bit more about licenses need for the user to use this when he sync the outlook to SAP Business One? Does he need to have a Professional license in order for him to sync to SAP B1?
Many Thanks,
Harianto
