what is backward/forward consumption?
Hi,
Backward /Forward Consumption is one of the way of Consumption Mode in which system first try to consume PIR in backward direction from the ref. date and it consumes all and then if required it will go for forward direction for PIR consumption.
In backward consumption, sales orders, dependent requirements or material reservations consume planned independent requirements that lie before the requirements date.
In forward consumption, sales orders, dependent requirements, or material reservations consume planned independent requirements that lie after the requirements date.
Hope this clears your doubt.
Revert if still any query.

Tejas
