Hello everbody.
I'm trying to create a new connection in the Designer with our SAP BW system.
At the Database Middleware screen I choose "SAP Client".
On the next screen I type in all the necessary information (user, pass, system-id,...). You may rest assured that I've checked these data a dozen times.
The next screen shows the possible favourites and cubes. Empty for my.
If I test the connection an error accurs: SBO0001 - Exception Calling cnx.
Can anyone explain to me what I'm doing wrong? I don't have an idea what this errors is about.
I've installed the Business Objects Enterprise suite. Needless to say that the SAP BW is installed on an other machine. Ports should be free.
Is an other software tool necessary to use that kind of connection?
I'm thinking about the SAP Integration Kit. Is it a must have?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Sebastian
Do you have the SAP Integration Kit and a valid license key?
This error can appear when you don't have a valid SAP Integration Kit license.

Hello Darren,
thanks for your answer.
The fault wasn't an invalid licensekey. The fault was that I didn't had installed the SAP Integration Kit.
Now I have. And now it's working!
I'm still wondering why there was offered this option even if I hadn't installed the SAP Integration Kit. It seems that it was a dummy. Strange...
Anyway. Problem solved.
Sebastian
