Hi sdn folks,
I have installed the developer workplace on my pc with a local sld and a maxdb database. I installed from the NW2004S dvds. The install running sapinst all went OK. The problem I have is I cant seem to get into / change settings in the sld. When I try to connect to the SLD using the correct port and the Administrator account - I get taken to the SLD screen - but all options are greyed out - it seems to be display mode only... If I go into visual administrator and run a connection test to the SLD data supplier I get the following error:
Operation failed! Failed to collect SLD data. Software caused connection abort: socket write error.
I'm not sure if the problem is that my administrator account does not have enough / the correct access or something else is going on. Has anyone seen / solved this error before with NW2004S?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
many thanks,
Julian

Hi Kishor,
I have not yet changed any SLD administration settings as I'm locked out of change mode from doing this.
I have set the host, port and user / password in the SLD supplier in visual administrator on the http tab. However when I run a test with these settings I get the socket write error. The SIM Client test also fails.
I have also assigned all lcr security roles to the administrator. I have not been able to configure the SLD at all - as it is not possible to change anything when I use the link to the SLD administrator http://localhost/50100/sld - and after keying in user id / password - I get the error message SLD not set up please configure in SLD Administration first - but all links are greyed out - and cannot be selected.
I have a colleague who has also installed from the same nw2004s install DVDs and he has exactly the same issue.
any fix/suggestions are really welcome!
Regards,
Julian
