Error 1904 during the Installation

Former Member

Hello everybody.

During the installation of the SAP Integration Kit I get an error. I used the german language so I hope its translated correct.

Error: 1904 Error during register the modul ...\Business Objects\Business Objects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\CrystalExtension.dll HRESULT -2147010895

I'm using a Windows 2003 Server 64bit. Could this be the problem?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Greetings

Sebastian

Please make sure the version is correct, normally we get this error message if we install 3.0 version of BO product on a system which already has 3.1 version of any product.

Hi Sebastian,

Could you please try registering the CrystalExtension.dll manually using REGSVR32 command on the run prompt.

Thanks for your answers!

I'm sorry but I'm not sure if register it manually is possible.

I just dont know which parameters the installation routine is using...

I tried it anyway. But it doesn't work. An error appears calling

"Load Library (....) failed - the specific module could not be found."

The problem here is that the installation files are zipped in a lot of different zip files.

To unzip only the specific dll seems not to be the right way.

@Joji: I've checked it. It is defenetly the correct version.Thanks.

I've forget to mention that I've allready testet the installaion on a notebook with WinXP Pro.

I hadn't any problems there. It's working fine on it.

Any other suggestions?

Sebastian

In the meantime my problem was solved.

I've evaluate the problem on a virtual machine.

First I've installed the BO Suite on a WinXP Pro without any .NET Frameworks on it.

The BO Installation includes the .NET Framework 1.1.

After that I've started the SAP Integration Kit installation. Exactly the same error appears.

But this time the effect of cancelling the installation was much more devastating. During the "reversed installation" it seems that important folders and files were deleted. After that all services couldn't be started and the login to the CMC wasn't possible anymore.

Only a complete uninstall and reinstallation solved this problem.

The second time of starting the SAP Integration Kit installation I've previously installed the .NET Framework 2.0.

This time everything worked fine.

Ergo the missing .NET Framework 2.0 caused the error.

Thanks to anybody.

Sebastian
