Lock entries since long time

Hi Experts,

It has been observed in SM12 that there are lock entries from long time, usually it should not be lock for more that 5 secs but it locking the object for about 7-8 hours.

When the data flowing from third party system to SAP CRM system it is locking few tables for the update and it is not releasing for long time.

We are not facing this problem when the flow is minimum (say 1 request per second) and if we increase the data flow say (2 request per second) then we are facing this problem.

Could you please let me know due to what factors these lock are not releasing. Is it fault in code?

Or its due the increased flow. If its due to the increased flow what measures should be taken to resolve this problem.

That note wont be helpful for you becuase it was for an ERP system. But the issue was with the SQL query in the program. May be if you report the issue with SAP, they will be able to help.

We had the similar issue on our system when more records were getting updated, the transaction gets locked. This was a bug and SAP released a note which fixed the issue.
