TATX-Item category Determination

Hi Friends,

In the item line when I enter merely the qty without giving the material no system accepts but determines item category as TATX....how tats happening?.......why system has to interpret as a text item?.........

Dear S. Kumar,

This is quite possible.

Merely entering the Material Description Quantity (as in your case), System will determine Item Category as "TATX" i.e. Text Item.

If, you check T. Code: VOV4 - Item Cat. Assignment; You will notice that there is no Item category group from material master, maintained for TATX.

It is the standard behaviour.

If you do not enter any material number or if enter a text in the Mateial number field, then system considers it as a Text Item and determines the Item category from the assignment (VOV4).

The assignment is ,

Sales doc. type(e,g. OR) + (BLANK) + Item usage (e,g. TEXT) + (BLANK) -

Hi,

Go to Item Category Determination there if you check

Sales Doc typ OR >Item Usage Text>Default item Catg TATX

In the program already it will be there that if the item is left as Blank then automatically system will assume

that this item usage is Text and it will determine item as TAXT .
