    Hi Santhosh,

What type of systems SCADA  and XMII.?? explain your requirement bit clearly.

Your are connecting to INBOUND Side SAP ECC System. Use IDOC Adapter or RFC Adapter is the best solution, or you can develop server side ABAP Proxies.

How to configure IDOC,RFC adapter search in sdn u wil find tons of Docs.

      Hi Raja,

      Thanks for your response.

SCADA is Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition System that collects data from various sensors at a factory, plant or in other remote locations and then sends this data to a central computer which then manages and controls the data.

The SAP xMII is an integration technology / Manufacturing Intelligence Portal which leverages Web server technology to extract data from data sources such as SCADA , aggregate the data at the server, transform it into a business context, and personalize and deliver results to users.

Hence the integration scenario could be something like

SCADA  to XMII & XMII to ERP using PI.

Infact I was expecting some kind of an expert solutioning from this forum

If someone has worked on similar kind of scenario, please share some info.

      Regards,

      Santhosh

        There can be two solutions

1)SCADA will give you ascii files, which you can use directly in SAP PI without bring in xMII.

        2) if you want to use xMII ,both PI and xMII has the adapters to talk with third party system as well as each other like, xMII can talk with SCADA using any standard protocol, and from there it can pass data to ERP directly or via PI .

let me know any other detail you want(specific)

          SCADA-XMII integration

Scada system should always remain connected to some Historian system. You can directly connect to SCADA system to xMII using vendor specific UDS (Universal Data Servers) Like Citect UDS ...

If vendor specific UDS is not available in MII then you can make it possible if the SCADA system is OPC complaint, through OPC UDS DA, but it provides only current data without any mata data information.

As a robust business practice it is not recommended to use direct SCADA connectivity to xMII, it should go through some Historian( Citect, Wonderware, Siemens...many more) so XMII will be able to get all plant floor operations data in history & current modes.

          XMII-ERP Integration

XMII supports IDOC & BAPI communication with ERP system using various SAP connectors available in XMII as in SAP BC, SAP JCO.

Specific to PI Sheet, you can download various control receipe, process orders data using IDocs.

BAPIs can be used to do "process order confirmations" back to ERP system and make changes in process data.

Let me know if you would like to know about specific SCADA system- xMII connectivity or specific activity in PI.

          Thanks
