Treatment of historical full loads with Inventory cube

Hi Experts,

We have to reload the inventory cube, but due to limited time, we are planning to do it in 3 steps.

-Setup table for 2009 (BX, BF, UM) , start the init loads in BI and start the delta loads.

-Setup table for 2008 (UM, BF) and load full in cube.

-Setup table for 2007 (UM, BF) and load full in cube.

I have followed detailed steps from "how to run setup tables for two clients with in one system." thread - answer from Surendra Reddy trying to execute them with the 0IC_C03 cube but ran into some problems.

All the steps (1 to 11) went well and I did the compression for the inits; BX (no marker unchecked) BF and UM (no marker checked).

I validated the data with MC.9 and quantities and values were right.

I then did a delta and everything was perfect.

Then I loaded historical loads for BX and UM by year (2008 first and 2007 after) and all data was wrong.

These loads were full loads.

I tried with and without compression but it didn't work.

Can you please tell me how to treat these full loads in a cube?

Is there as special order?

Thank you very much

Shirley

    Hi,

    Try to follow the steps..

1.Fix the down time and lock all users at that time.12-03-2009 (from time 12:01:01 onwards).

2.First clear Setuptables,RSA7,SMQ1 in ECC and Cube data in BW.

3.Run MCNB, under DataSource Info tab, select only All Stock Including - non valuated.

    4.Load the data to BW.

5.Compress the request *without Check Box*.

6.Delete the setup tables once the BW load complets.

7.Run OLI1BW give the Posting date range From 01-03-2009 to 11-03-2009.

    8.Load the data to BW.

    9.Compress Cube *with Check Box*.

10.Delete the setup tables once the BW load complets.

11.Run OLIZBW give the Posting date range From 01-03-2009 to 11-03-2009.

    12.Load the data to BW.

    13.Compress Cube *with Check Box*.

    14. Check the BW Data with MB5B Tcode in ECC, it will match.

15.Delete the setup tables once the BW load complets.

*16.So you set Delta Successfully i.e. you complete Init load.*

17.Here I'm assuming that I have data from 2006 Jan to Till Date.

18.I loaded from 01-03-2009 to 11-03-2009, so I need to load Historical data from 01-01-2006 to 28-02-
         2009.

19."STOP V3 JOB.* don't run till all Historical data is finished.

    20. Split the setup tables i.e. 01-01-2009 to 28-02-2009 one load, then load to BW (Full Load) and
         compress  with Check Box.

    21. Repeate step 20 for BX and UM till you reach from date as 01-01-2006. (Each time delete setup
         tables and fill).

    22. Once you complete the Historical data, then Run V3 job and then load Deltas in BW.

    Thanks

    Reddy

After the step 5, in step 6 why we need to delete the setup  tables, for 2lis_03_bx.

      Dear Surendra,

When i was a Beginner in SAP BI i used to read your Articles . All those helped me a lot.

I am very grateful to you .

Now i have a doubt to Ask you, can you please Ans me ASAP  ,

      Q : is

We have 3 individual setup tables  for BX,BF & UM .In my reload we loaded each setup table  in single step.

And the successive repair full loads in  to BI .(Repair full is Required Bzc BF data is populated in to other DSO we don't want to disturb that DSO's data.

(If we loaded the next setup table without deleting the previous table the total data one time , in specific Inventory what happens? as per my knowledge no deletion is required if it is onetime whole data setup ,If i am wrong plz correct me ).

Now the the cumulative values are showing   correct in ECC to BI.

But the Non-cumulative are showing double results in Report level.

We are confident .All the setting and Loading  were done properly.

What may be the  Reason for the same (In ECC and BI) .

The Report is Z Report .

      Thanks & Regards,

      Anjan.K

    Hello Reddy,

I appreciate your detailed steps to this, as I'm in the same situation--although I was using delta loads of historical data.  I understand your steps in your process; however, I'm confused as to why in Step 21, you indicate to Repeat step 20 for BX...  With the BX setup, you can't control the date range of data selected, can you?

We're on version 3.0 and I haven't come across a way to control the date range for running the BX setup.  Any further information you can provide on this is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Surendra,

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question.

Sorry for the late answer, I wanted to try out the steps before responding.

I have tried the step suggested, I do get the inventory quantities right but I can never get the dollar values right.

    Here are the steps followed:

1.Fix the down time and lock all users at that time.12-03-2009 (from time 12:01:01 onwards)

(dev system with no activity at night)

2.First clear Setuptables lbwg,RMBWV303, RSA7,SMQ1 in ECC and Cube data in BW.

3.Run MCNB, under DataSource Info tab, select only All Stock Including - non valuated.

    4.Load the data to BW.

5.Compress the request without Check Box.

6.Delete the setup tables once the BW load completes.

7.Run OLI1BW give the Posting date range From 01-01-2009 to 01-07-2009.

    8.Load the data to BW.

    9.Compress Cube with Check Box.

10.Delete the setup tables once the BW load complets.

11.Run OLIZBW - complete set of data - no date selection because I had errors on a previous run- this will not be run again.

    12.Load the data to BW.

    13.Compress Cube with Check Box.

    14. Check the BW Data with MB5B and MC.9  Tcode in ECC, and everything matches ($ and qTy).

15.Delete the setup tables once the BW load completes.

16.So you set Delta Successfully i.e. you complete Init load. -

17.Here I'm assuming that I have data from 2007 Jan to Till Date.

18.I loaded from 01-01-2009 to 01-07-2009, so I need to load Historical data from 01-01-2007 to 31-12-

         2008.

19."STOP V3 JOB. don't run till all Historical data is finished.

    20. Split the setup tables into loads, then load to BW (Full Load) and compress  with Check Box.

    -Delete the setup tables

    -Run OLI1BW From 01-07-2008 to 31-12-2008

    -compress  with Check Box

    -Delete the setup tables

    -Run OLI1BW From 01-01-2008 to 30-06-2008

    -compress  with Check Box

    -Delete the setup tables

    -Run OLI1BW From 01-01-2007 to 31-12-2007

    21. Once you complete the Historical data, then Run V3 job and then load Deltas in BW.

    22. Check the BW Data with MC.9  Tcode in ECC, and Quantities match but $ values start being different from november 2008.

The interesting thing is if I run a full setup table for BF resulting in many hours of runtime; I get the right results.

It seems like I won't be able to use your method.

Do you have any idea why it wouldn't work?

    Thanks again!
