SYSTEM_CORE_DUMPED in our BW 3.5 Quality system

Hi Basis Gurus,

We are getting dumped today in our BW 3.5 Quality system.

The dump is SYSTEM_CORE_DUMPED

Please let me know what could be the reason for this dump and why these dump occur.

Our system details are

BW 3.5

Solaris OS

Oracle 9i database.

hello,

There can be many reasons of getting Core dump into system. First check for SM21 logs.

You will get why you are getting this. This happens if paging space get exhausted which causes memory bottleneck.

check for /usr/sap/SID/work log files you can get exact problem what causing system core dumps.

Most probabily it happens when all paging get consumed due to some processes or jobs.

check out in your system what causing this..

this is serious performance issue can hamper your system performance.

If any work process terminates abnormally then system generates a Core Dump at Os level.
