How to Guide for Inventory extraction requires a set-up of the initial inventory levels using 2LIS_03_BX data source. This would imply that when we run this set-up we would get inventory levels as of the run date and then get transaction information going forward. However, the requirements we have is to report historically on transactions before the set-up date. How can we achieve this? Do we skip the initialization step and do only delta using 2LIS_03_BF?
If you have any historical information in the transactional system, then you need to extract BX and compress it with marker update.
It will give the current snap shot of the stock postion at Plant and Material level.
Loading the historical transations using BF is optional and upto the business requirement.
If required, you may use full update for BF and compress it with No-Marker update for historical transactions.
For delta updates, you need to compress it with Marker update.

Hi,
If you load 2LIS_03_BX data, you will get all opening stocks at location level.
Eg: Your system is implemented on 01.01.2006 and then today if you want to load the the data for 2LIS_03_BX , if you run setup tables today, you will get the all historical data from 01.01.2006 to today. So you can show the historical data by date wise also.
Thanks
Reddy

Baylon,
This would imply that when we run this set-up we would get inventory levels as of the run date and then get transaction information going forward. However, the requirements we have is to report historically on transactions before the set-up date.
--> With BX datasource we can get latest balances on setup date.
--> BF brings all moments in history
--> UM birngs revaluations data.
Need to setup for all above 3 datasources to bring data into BW.

You have to setup the initialization of BF also. Follow these steps
1. Init BX then load it to the Cube .compress it with marker
2. init BF , load to the cube, compress it without marker
3. Take delta from BF, compress with marker
NOTE: Dont put any DSO between BX and cube.
