Matching Infoobjects for Fields

Former Member

Experts,

I am creating a generic extractor on the table/view EKBE in R/3.

How do I find the matching Business Content Infoobjects for those fields in R/3. Maybe I may need to create zinfoobjects too.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Raj

Hi,

Use RSOSFIELDMAP table in BW and then find the InfoObejct and Fields mapping.

Thanks

What if some fields don't exist?

Does it mean I need to create a Z Infoobject or does it mean that I need to search in Business Content too.

Thanks

Hi

For every standard field of R3, there is a corresponding standard BI content info object available. You can get this information from RSOSFIELDMAP table.

You have to install the objects from the business content only if it is not available in active state. If the table contains Z fields then you have to create corresponding Custom info objects in BW.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Sadeesh,

But I still have an issue. Say for field 'WESBS' -

Sorry I missed typing the entire message:

Say for field WESBS - Goods Receipt Blocked Stock in Order Unit, I do not find an entry in the RSOFIEDLMAP.

Does this mean for this std entry there's no IO in BI or am i missing something

Hi,

You create ZWESBS InfoObject with same data type and tehn map the Field WESBS--->ZWESBS InfoObject.

Thanks

Yep For this field there is no standard info object available in BI. You have to create custom info object matching the technical properties of the R3 field.

Hi

1. In BW, Goto SE11 and give the table name as RSOSFIELDMAP.

2. In the content screen of the table, Against FIELDNM - Give the field name and execute it.

You will get the corresponding BW info object for the fields in the table RSOSFIELDMAP.

Hope it helps.
