Good Day,
Have a user that is receiving the above error when using a VPN connection. When user is on the network locally he has no issues. When he use VPN to connect to this SAP system he receives that the partner not reached. We have SAP GUI 7.10, Patch 8, XP Pro SP3.
What could be the issue? Thank you for your assistance in advance.

I hope that your problem is solved now (after more than 1 year...).
I suppose the problem was due to the fact that corresponding port 32<system number> wasn't opened on the firewall for external access.

Activate the SAPGUI trace, repeat the process and then post the trace errors.

I guess it is just the network issue,the user might be getting a slower network through VPN and hence he is getting the error and unable to connect to SAP
