MRP Area

Dear Guru's,

BOM of material A is made inactive at header level on 06.03.2009. All the components in the BOM are assigned to MRP area. Now we have one planned order (i.e. stock order - 12.03.2009) for material A. The procurement proposals for components are not coming at plant level but they are coming on MRP area level. As BOM is inactive at plant level then the components should not be planned via MRP at plant level but as there is only one BOM then how procurement proposals are created even at MRP area level? What should be the settings to stop generation of procurement proposals at MRP area also? It is possible to mark deletion indicator at MRP area in MRP1 view.

Please help.

Hi,

Can you please let us know , how did u manage to achieve the procurement proposals at MRP area level

We have similar requirements, & are able to achieve the proposals at Plant MRP area level only.

Whereas we need at Storage location MRP area level

Thanks & Regards

1. Create MRP area in Cutomizing.

2. Assign storage loaction to that MRP area so that the storage location would be excluded from Plant MRP area.

3. Go to transaction MM02 in MRP1 view assign MRP area to material master.

Then in every MRP run material will be planned at MRP area level only.

Hi,

Check the PldOrd's components list. Does it contain the components of the BOM? If yes, the requirements for components coming from here...

You can delete the PldOrd, run MRP again and let's see whether you will have any components from the BOM in the newly created PldOrd. If the BOM is really inactive and you have no alternative, active BOMs, the PldOrd shouldn't have any component in its components list.
