Hi All,
I am an accountant (Financial reporting role), and going to join a new company next month with the same role. My new employer is operating SAP accounting system. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with SAP at all.
I am very much keen to learn SAP but don't know, how to start this learning.
Please help me. Is there any online help available? means any learning material etc.
I will truely appreciate any help.
Best regards,
Zahid

HI,
As you known accounting is not a small topic. In SAP FI, it covers, AP,AR,GL,AA,TR,PS,CIN etc... Now you choose, which sub-module will you work in your new company. On that basis, you can learn the SAP.

Hello,
1. Read help.sap.com
2. Visit service.sap.com regularly
3. Check forum postings at www.sdn.sap.com
4. Download best practice configuration guides and business process documents from the following site:
help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/600/BBlibrary_start.htm
If you have IDES or DEMO system available, then start configuring one industry for your country.
Trust me your configuration skills get improved a lot and you will get good hands on experience.
Probably you also need to upload some master datas like GL, Cost Centers, Profit Centers etc. You can refer following sample LSMW file.
http://www.scmexpertonline.com/downloads/SCM_LSMW_StepsOnWeb.doc
You should also have to become successfull in SAP consulting:
1. Strong basics in FICO
2. Good Accounting Knowledge
3. Strong configuration skills
4. Open to share
5. Attitude
6. Flexible
7. Eager to learn new things
8. Good reading habit
9. Hardwork
10. Cheerfulness
This is not exhaustive list, but bare minimum required.
Please let me know if you need any further information.
Regards,
Ravi
