ESS restrict the no of characters on a text control from the portal side.

Hi all,

I just needed to understand if we can restrict the no of characters on postal code text control in ESS-->Personal Information --> Addresses for country japan. Generally it accepts till 10, I want to know whether is there any possibility to restrict the same to 6 on the portal iview side through end user personalisation or through some other option.

You can also modify the webdynpro java application and restrict the field to accept only 6 characters...

Hi,

these are the following option available to make the changes as per your requirement.

1) Iview personalization will not work for japan country alone, if you want to do for all the country, you can try the option personalization(login with admin, open iview, press ctlr+right click) and make the changes.

2) you need to trace the iview execution from the backend SAP HR, check and find out the desired funtion module and make the changes for Japan country. this is very much possible but need efforts to find out the BAPI in the backend system. It would be a changes in SAP standard funtional module.
