Hi All,
I'm doing R&D on HCM / EPR instances.
I wanted to know the advantages and disadvantages of having SAP ERP and HCM on a single instance/server vs different instances and vice versa.
Basically, I want to know what is the trend - do most companies have their ERP system and HCM system on the same instance or different instances.
Could someone please share with me there implementation experience.
Also, if you could share examples of companies who have implemented HCM or share case studies, I would greatly appreciate.
Thanks,
Shashi
Hi
Although I have no implementation experience of putting the whole ERP solution on one instance
together with HR the following considerations are likely
1) All ERP on one instance may create size and performance considerations - the number of users may be
high and there maybe bottlenecks at certain times, the hardware and sizing has to be tuned effectively
2) HR and ERP across separate instances will require a structured interface solution like ALE/IDOC
to ensure consistency of data across all products - interfaces can be tricky and often are the source
of potential issues
Hope this helps
Stuart
