Hi MDM experts
What are the significant sections in MDM Functional and Technical specification.
Vickey.
Hi,
It depends on the requirement. But in general, The key area in FS is the Field Mapping Section.Say there are 5 systems(both SAP and non sap) and you need to map these fields in SAP MDM.It requires a lot of business expertise to have a single data model within MDM which includes the Key fields (from all the 5 systems) required for the business.Apart from this, FS includes Workflow Section,Data Validation , Data Standardization and so on.
As TS is based on FS, it generally details how the above said things can be carried out.

Hi,
Let me explain though a simple example.
If there is need for importing data into MDM from legacy system.
The Functional system will clearly explains the need of the requirement and also explains the legacy system & MDM system specifications.
The Technical Specifications explains how the requirement is going to be complete. It also explains the detailed explanation of technical workaround in MDM & Legacy system.
Like the same , other tasks like Syndication, Data Governance, integration carried out.
Regards,
Vijay
