Installation Error MUT-02041: SDM call of deploy ends with returncode 4

Hi people, good morning,

We are trying to install Web AS Java Central System in our environment to support the EP Component Installation. In this process, we are facing this MUT-02041 error as said in the subject line. When we take a look at callSDMViaSapinst.log file, the last small bit of entry is as follows.

In the midst of it is stated "No Filesets for Deployment" error, but i have no idea of what this is about. Do you have any idea of how to fix this error? We have tried reinstalling from scratch but id didn't work either.

Thanks for the help. I think it is not a file problem because i am installing from the Netweaver Master Installation DVD, shipped from SAP. But anyway, i could work around the problem: i stopped the installation at that point, then restarted and continued from the same point. After some clicks on "Retry" button it decided to work at last.

Hi,

I have recently faced the same problem. It seems the TEMPLATECONFIGTOOL.SDA is corrupt. To work around this, I had to manually remove the descriptor "SdaDeployment" for Template Config tool from file "sdmrepository.sdc". This file is available in usr\sap\J2E\JC00\SDM\program. This worked for now. Lets see what happens when I run the JAVA AS

and BTW, I just tried with JDK 1.4.2_09 and it simply skipped through the step without causing problems. Previously, I tried both 08 and 09 and it would simply stop. There is something wrong with the SDA....

Hello,

It looks like the sda that was selected for deployment DEPLOY-TOOL.SDA is empty. It probably contains no files except the deployment descriptors. Can you please double check the consistency of the archive? Have you used the same installation before? It might be a problem with the installation package - probably it is not complete or it was corrupted during download.

you should have downloaded these files. and unpacked them. then the error shouldn't come.

SAPINST<series of numbers>.SAR

EP6CTRL<series of numbers>.SAR

EP6KMC<series of numbers>.SAR

EP6PORTAL<series of numbers>.SAR

EP6TOOLS<series of numbers>.SAR

it says "No filesets for deployment". that means your files are missing. check your SAPinst directory and make sure you have those files/folders like KMC, Portal, Tools etc.
