Dear All
I have just installed WAS 6.2 sucessfully. I try to execute some of the Htmlb Samples and I find the tableview not displyed, shows only plain web page. May I request you to help me to find out the solution for that. Is there any sap patches for that and if so please let me know from where from i have to download.
My advance thanks to all of you
Hi Karan,
Just after installation, if you are using a low performance machine, should be while compiling all applications, ICM goes on timeout.
I suggest you to launch BSP generation:
1. go to transaction SGEN;
2. Generation on BSP Applications;
3. SAP_BASIS;
4. choose your server;
5. Start job directly.
6. When finished, try to use HTMLB example pages.
Try... 😮

Hello Karan,
That was the key there - this is not a normal WebAS system. This is the Mini WAS thus SP 24 and the tableView doesn't really start working until around SP 31.
If you are not a SAP customer you will not be able to download the required SP's to upgrade your system. Now if you are a customer and can download those SP's from the Service Marketplace, http://service.sap.com, then you'll need to pay attention to this topic -> this topic covers the whole process of upgrading the Mini WAS.
Until you get those required SP's in I'm afraid not much of what you are trying will work very well and it doesn't matter if you activate the BSP in SICF transaction or run SGEN (which just recompiles all of the ABAP/BSP programs, etc in the system again) -> you'll notice that Raja wrote the SP number next to several items.
I had the same problem with the MiniWAS which is why I figured out how to upgrade it however, I am also working for a company that is a customer of SAP and therefore I had access to the required SP's to download and since I use the MiniWAS for work that was allowed.
So in summary and I am sorry to say, <b>you have to upgrade your Mini WAS</b>. You can also email the SAP people and ask them about buying a copy of the SP CD which is shipped out to customers, normally we get one with all the SP and other plugins that we use for easier and faster updating. But this could be expensive.
And since that is the answer to your question, you might want to thank everyone here who offered <b>helpful</b> and <b>very helpful</b> solutions and then mark your message as <b>solved</b>. Although your problem itself is not solved, we here in the forums can't help you anymore since the problem lies with the fact you don't have the SP's installed. Once you get those you can then go over to the topic I posted above:
That will help you in the upgrade process.
Sorry Karan, we get the CD from SAP on a regular basis so it's something that we've paid for with our licenses.
If you registered your Mini Was (the website address where you put your name in and got an email with your license) you might try sending a reply email to that address and asking them about it.
Please be sure to close this message and award the points to those that gave useful and helpful answers. You can read this message to see how to do that:
HI Karan,
The patches are a bit tricky. BEcause you have to do a 2 Kernel upgrades and a DB upgrade.
So first things first go to http://www.sapdb.org and download the 7.4.3 DB for Windows, 62 MB I think.
You can start applying patches (make a backup first of your install) from 24 to 27, apply ABA and BASIS one at a time do not put more than 1 in the queue in SPAM.
After 27 you need to get the newest SPAM update as well and make you first kernel upgrade.
Once you update SPAM to 16 and the Kernel you can then do your ABA and BASIS patches to 37. Once you get there you need to do the Kernel Q1 and Q2 upgrades and then upgrade your SAPDB as well.
Then you can do the patches from 38 to 43.
REMEMBER!!!! Do the ABA and BASIS one at a time or your MiniWAS may give you problems! Mine is now working with SP43 and this is how I did - the ways I tried before ended leaving me with a damaged system. But this way WORKS!
Actually not differently at they are the same, but installing and upgrading are a bit different as the system is not so strong and a real WebAS running on a real server. I just posted this regarding the process.
<b>Mini me of WebAS 6.20</b>
/people/sap.user72/blog/2004/09/06/mini-me-of-webas-620
Have you tried it? The "mini me" of the WebAS 6.20? It's here it's strong and it can grow!
Hi Crieg
I saw your write up and i need further clarification from you regarding the following two points.
1) Manually unpack the SP's using SAPCAR. IS SAPCAR is a TCODE?. Can you tell me how to Unpack SP's.
2) Please let me know Where from (Source) Kernel to be downloaded.
Please let me know.
Thank you very much for your guidence.
Karan
SAPCAR is a program that comes on the CD - look in your MiniWAS directory or MiniWAS/trans.
sapcar.exe -tvf [SP PACKAGE FILENAME]
That command shows you the content.
sapcar.exe -xvf [SP PACKAGE FILENAME]
to unpack the archive, it unpacks it from the directory you are into a sub directory called "EPS" and in there a sub driectroy called "in". Best bet is to put the SP's into the MiniWAS/trans directory and do it there as they'll be unpacked to your MiniWAS/trans/EPS/in location.
Make sure you share your MiniWAS folder as "sapmnt" in windows that is right click and "Share Folder".
The Kernel upgrades are in the same place as the SP's so if they are not on the CD you'll have to ask SAP for them or you can go to the http://service.sap.com and download them yourself.
Dear Craig
Thank you very much for your guidence.
I am just started to upload the SP. When i try to apply patch KA62025.CAR the import <u>was stopped due to error occured during the phase Check_Requirements which supportpackage Manager is unable to resolve without your Input.</u>.
Can advise me on this.
Karan
<i>That was the key there - this is not a normal WebAS system. This is the Mini WAS thus SP 24 and the tableView doesn't really start working until around SP 31.</i>
First a small remark. In SP24 there was NO design2003. In design2002 the tableView worked perfectly. For design2003, it is worthwhile to immediately just to SP>35.
<b>VERY IMPORTANT:</b> One of the biggest mistakes I made was in SP24. It was just one line of code that should have gone out in a later SP, and it was patched a day to early. But this one simple mistake prevents nearly all BSP applications from working.
<b>Always, directly after installing a MiniWAS system, please read note 621674 (BSP Page activitation give "Compile Time Errors").</b>
Dear Crieg
Should i modify existing profile or new profile to be created and activate. I find that whatever changes i do in the existing profile does not save ie it bring back the old settings when come out of RZ10 and secondly
Can you tell me exact path for activating the ENQ Server and BTC server.
Thank you very much.
Karan
Did you ever find the BSP_D00.pfl or something ismiliar in name? You have to choosein RZ10 to Import Profiles from active servers. then you should have that one.
Then you modify it - you should in the profile find the parameters for the ENQ and BTC and erverything just increase the values there.
Dear Craig
One more help craig.
I could generate the profile via Of active server. In the Instance name D00 is moved automatically. But the system gives an error saying that the Instance D00 for system bsp not configured. Can you guide me where this D00 is to be configured.
Thank you very much.
Karan
Dear Craig
Thank you for ur advise. The problem is that the patch updation goes very fast till it is 20% completed after that there is no further progress even after 3-4 hrs. It shows as if it is processing, so i am forced to come out. As per your advise i will kill the tp.exe window and do it again.
Normally how much time will take to apply a patch. My system has Memory 500 MB RAM and 80 GB Hard Disk.
As per Mr. Brian Advise i will put this topic in the Web Application Server General discussion form.
Thank you once again for your support and guidence.
Karan
Hi Guys,
Although this discussion is very interesting, and have probably now ensured for all times that the longest thread is in the BSP forum, I must admit that it slowly drifted completely off topic.
Maybe, if further discussion is required, you could consider the , and maybe specifically this topic: !
thanks, brian

did you run the commands from the command prompt or inside of the system "addtobuffer" and "import" with tp.exe?
Did you go to the "STMS" transaction in the system and make sure it was configured?
Did you "share your folder MiniWAS" in Windows with the name "sapmnt"?
Did you do a SUPPORT PACKES - LOAD PACKAGES - FROM APPLICATION SERVER in transaction "SPAM"?
Are you trying this as user "DDIC"?
What does running transaction "SICK" tell you?
Dear Creig
Sorry sir I have not done the addtobuffer command at the dos promot. I will do do that. Import also to be execusted at the dos Promot?..
I did not share Miniwas also. I will do that and let you know.
When i checked STMS its says the Change and Transport system not Configured may be due to not executing addto buffer and Import Commands. All i am doing in DDIC only.
I will do that and let you know Sir.
Karan
Try to do the import of the transport in transaction STMS and not in the dos command.
Go to transaction STMS and then select the little truck Icon (F5), then your BSP system from the list by double clicking on it.
Then choose the refresh and see if your transport is in the list, if so then click on it and choose the little truck (CTRL-F11) to do the import and tell it which system and client to do the import in
Dear Creig
I have done as per your instructions. still i have the same problem
1) Error Code 3
RFC Error text/win32 error2
2) Change and transport system not configured
I run the transaction SICK.
It displays the following message
No Application server offers ENQ service
Sever problems were detected during initial system check
Please do not use that system before fixing these problems.
Your advise please.
Karan
You need to go to Transaction RZ10, and do a consistency check on your profile (BSP_D00.pfl I think it's called)
Correct all the errors with what they recommend.
Go back to the admin.html file and read the part about running the transactions in SE38 for the transport system.
Then after that go back to your transaction STMS and see if it is now consistent.
Dear Crieg
I have done as per your instructions. Still i have the same problem
No Application server offers ENQ service
Sever problems were detected during initial system check
Please do not use that system before fixing these problems.
I thought this may be due to Installation. I have again Install the SAPWAS but the same problem appears.
If i buy latest Copy will have all the Patches upto 43?..
Please advise me.
Karan
YOu did not do everything I said
You need to go to transaction RZ10 and choose the BSP_D00.pfl profile and choose Extended Maintenance and do a check. It will give you lots of errrors once you fix all of those things and restart you should no longer get that error message.
No the latest version does not have SP43
Dear Craig
Now my TMC is Consistant. I have done one more step which is below.
STMS -> System Overview > Select BSP -> Distribute and Activate TMS Configuration if TMC is Inconsistant.
But Still I have the following error.
No Application server offers ENQ service
Sever problems were detected during initial system check
Please do not use that system before fixing these problems.
I executed RZ10 to change the profile, but it does not allow me record the changes.
I have three profiles.
Default profile : Default profile
BSP_DVEBMGS00_P72367 : Instance profile
START_DVEBMGS00_P72367 : start up profile
Please let me know how to change or Should I create with Z or Y Profile.
Now I have only this problem Craig.
Waiting for your advice.
Karan
Dear Karan,
Try seeing whether the ICF Services for your BSP Application are activated or not. Go to Transaction Code SICF and figure out this against your BSP Application Name.
Also UNCHECK (if checked) "Show Friendly URLS" and "Show Friendly HTTP Messages" from the Advanced Tab of IE's Tools>>Options part. This gives you direct server Error messages, which helps you in resolving issues in a better way.
Next you should check for nodes in SICF which are used by TableViews via ICF. These need to be activated. In fact if you run the BSP page now, you might get the Server Error Messages and tell you the nodes that need to be activated.
Plus in case you are using IE5, then check in the Layout part of the BSP Page code if design is set to some other values except just 'classic'. If otherwise revert back to 'classic' only.
<htmlb:content id = "content"
design = "classic" >
Hope this solves your problem. Revert freely if issues still persist.
Happy Developments.
Vivek Singh.

Typically if the service is not activated in SICF or if there is something missing you will get a error message stating that.
However Karan,
Vivek Singh is correct that you have to do these items as well in order to move forward in your development.
Thanks Vivek Singh for the <b>helpful</b> reminder!!
If you just installed Karan I would ask one <b>BIG</b> question. What SP level for ABA and BASIS is your system? The tableView doesn't really start working really realy well until at least SP 31 for ABA and BASIS.
So please take a moment to upgrade your system I would recommend to 43 (not you'll have to do two Kernel upgrades in the process I think - one for sure to pass SP 38) then take a look at the examples again.

What SP do you have now?
Yes you can get a CD from SAP that has all of the SP on them. Or you can download them from the Service Market Place at http://service.sap.com
Please mark your message here with the appropriate entries if you are sastifised with the responses.
