Changing the field status in Material Master

We want to make the " Prod./insp. memo" field in Basic Data 2 view as required field while creating the new material master.

Please guide how to change the field status in material master for the same.

Hi,

Go to SPRO>>Logistics General>>Material Master>>Field Selection>>Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens

Field selection group: 15

In Field refrence: Select MM01 and make it Required entry.

First you need to find the Field Reference group used by your material (type). Once this is known, use TCode OMS9 or IMG path Logistics - General -> Field Selection -> Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens. Double-click this field reference group in the Field Selection box to get the selection groups. Find the field selection group where the "Prod./insp. memo - MARA-FERTH" field is located (Field sel. group 15 in my system) and then you can Hide, Display, make it a Reqd Entry, or Opt. entry. If this field is combined with other fields you do not want required (setting applies to all fields in the group), you may have to assign it to a different selection group in TCode OMSR or under IMG Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups to get it by itself.
